BASIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requirement for admission to the Bridging Programme is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi. As the Bridging Programme is designed to make up for a students Matric performance as a pathway to Higher Education, an achievement rating of 2 (30-39%) may be deemed acceptable.
Occupational Qualifications – Further Education and Training Certificates
The minimum requirement for admission for LUSA Occupational Qualifications (Further Education and Training Certificates) is a National Senior Certificate as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 2/ 3 (30-49%) may be deemed acceptable.
All applicants must have attained a certain level of proficiency in English and are required to submit evidence of this, as outlined below, as part of their application to study.
- South African Senior Certificate applicants must have achieved a pass of 40% or more on Standard or 30% Higher Grade in English (First or Second Language) at Senior Certificate level.
- For SADC and other International Students, a pass in English language at A-level, As-level, IGCSE, GCSE or O-level, International Baccalaureate or a level equivalent to any of those listed here.
Admission to the Domestic Services Programme
As this is an NQF Level 1 qualification, and therefore the starting point of a career and of training and development in various industries, no formal learning is assumed to be in place. Admission into the Domestic Services programme will be through an interview process and/or an entrance examination to assess student competency in the areas of instruction.
